The Arbora development project in Crissier (VD), a collaboration between Losinger Marazzi and Naef Participations financières SA, has created a sustainable neighbourhood nestled between the city and nature.
The project aimed to develop the site while preserving biodiversity and balancing nature with urbaniszation, offering a modern, pleasant living environment for its residents. Several measures were taken to preserve the natural landscape, such as the creation of landscaped swales, the conservation of existing natural elements, and the construction of protected wildlife passages under the streets. More than 300 m² of community gardens are available for residents. The neighbourhood features urban street furniture, including a fitness area, children’s play zones, and outdoor tables and loungers, promoting social interaction in a natural, calming setting. The existing farm was preserved and renovated to become the heart of the neighborhooddistrict, offering spaces for activities, services, and a daycare. Arbora targets the Minergie-ECO and BiodiverCity certifications, focusing on energy performance and the site’s biodiversity.
Additionally, Arbora aims to be the first Swiss neighbourhood to achieve the WELL Community certification, focusing on the quality of outdoor spaces and community life, including air and water quality, nutrition, and social activities. Through these efforts, Losinger Marazzi continues its pioneering work on sustainable projects, building on past successes like Eikenott in Gland and Eglantine in Morges, underscoring its commitment to societal, energy, and ecological responsibility.
