MOHAMMED VI INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL
A New Benchmark for Healthcare in Morocco
In November, Bouygues Bâtiment International and its Moroccan subsidiary BYMARO successfully delivered the Mohammed VI International University Hospital in Rabat — a landmark project commissioned by the Mohammed VI Foundation for Science and Health.
Covering 280,000 m², this hospital and academic complex is among the most ambitious healthcare infrastructures in the region. It includes 553 beds, 20 next-generation operating theatres, and a full teaching environment with 15 lecture halls, 72 classrooms, and 217 practical training rooms, housed across four six-storey buildings and a 25-storey tower.
Delivered in a record 24 months, the project mobilised up to 3,500 workers at peak activity. This success is the result of seamless coordination between BYMARO, the client, subcontractors, and the Bouygues Bâtiment International healthcare teams. Key strategies included integrated project management, fast-track mobilisation, real-time digital monitoring (via Power BI dashboards), and lean methods such as micro-zoning and weekly coordination meetings.
HUIM6 is the third major hospital delivered by BYMARO in five years, following the Mohammed VI University Hospital in Bouskoura (2019) and the Smart Health Care City in Benguerir (2024). It reflects Bouygues Bâtiment International’s long-standing commitment to Building for Life and shaping the future of healthcare in Africa.
